A Shared Device Does Not Establish Shared Game Progress

Keep personal notes, site records and game state conceptually separate when taking turns.

Identify which record you are looking at

A page can show a recently opened title, a selected character or a game-specific continue option. Those records represent different things. Before assuming that progress belongs to a particular person, identify what the interface actually describes. A title appearing in a recent list does not, by itself, establish that the game saved a completed task or distinguished the people who used the device.

Read the game's own explanation

If the game provides profiles, save slots or a continue feature, use the actual labels and instructions to understand them. Do not assume that two players receive separate progress simply because they take turns. Likewise, do not assume that a new visit begins from nothing. The relationship between a person and a saved state needs an explicit basis in the game's available information.

For a fictional example, one person could reach a checkpoint and another could later open the same title. A visible continue option might describe a device's existing game state rather than identify either player. Before selecting it, the two people can agree on what they intend to use. This is an expectations question, not a claim that every browser game stores progress in the same way.

Keep a personal account outside the ambiguity

A brief personal note can describe what you were trying to do and which task you last understood. It does not replace a save system, but it can preserve your intention when the interface does not identify individual sessions. Record only what you need to resume the decision, such as a rule you learned or a question you planned to investigate.

Avoid treating a screenshot or a note as proof that the underlying state can be restored. It records an observation. A save feature, when actually provided, concerns restoration under the game's rules. Keeping those roles separate prevents a useful reminder from becoming an unsupported promise about what will remain after another person plays.

Agree before changing an existing state

When a menu offers a reset or a new game, clarify what the people sharing the device want before selecting it. Read any explanation of what will change. You can choose a fresh session or an existing one deliberately, without assuming that the interface automatically understands the social arrangement. The aim is a shared expectation about the next action and the record it is intended to create.
